What CarMetric is
CarMetric is an AI buying assistant for used cars in the UK. You enter the details of a car you’re considering, and CarMetric gives you a structured buying report: a verdict, an estimated risk score, a fair-price view, likely faults to ask about, negotiation prompts and an estimate of running costs.
What we analyse
- The make, model, year, mileage and asking price you provide.
- Optional details like trim, fuel type, transmission, service history and ownership.
- Any known faults or notes you share with us.
- Your usage profile (annual mileage, mostly city / motorway / mixed).
What ‘AI estimate’ means
Most numbers in a report — fair price range, monthly running costs, depreciation, fault likelihood, suggested offer — are estimates generated by AI and rule-based models using the details you provide and typical patterns for similar cars. They are not measurements of your specific vehicle and they are not professional valuations.
What comes from you
Everything specific to the car (make, model, mileage, asking price, condition notes, photos, service history, etc.) comes from you. CarMetric does not independently verify these details. The quality of the report depends on the accuracy of what you enter.
What CarMetric does NOT claim
- It is not a finance check, write-off check, stolen check or HPI report.
- It is not an official vehicle history record.
- It is not a mechanical inspection or a guarantee of condition.
- It is not financial, legal or insurance advice.
- It is not a substitute for viewing the car and getting a professional inspection.
How you should use a report
Use CarMetric to decide which cars are worth your time, to spot questions to ask the seller, and to set a sensible budget. Before you hand over money, view the car in person and — for anything you can’t verify yourself — get an independent pre-purchase inspection.
Privacy and payments
We only store what we need to show your reports back to you. Payments are handled by Stripe; CarMetric never sees your card details. See our privacy policy and terms for details.
